India: 107 Killed By Lightning

Lightning strikes during monsoon rains in India have killed 107 people and injured dozens.

Lightning strikes have killed 83 people in Bihar and 24 in Uttar Pradesh.

Lightning strikes are common in India during the annual monsoon from June to September. Bihar’s Minister for Disaster Management says lightning strikes in recent rains have caused the most deaths.

According to India’s local meteorological department, heavy rains are expected in Bihar on Friday and Saturday.
